A Tribute to Gene Hine

A salute and tribute to a friend and a brother

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him

We recently lost a great member and leader of our unit. Gene Hine who was a member from the beginning passed away. He will be deeply missed by all of us. He always had a great smile on his face and cared deeply about people. He was always willing to help and would bend over backwards no questions asked. He was the backbone of our unit. He along with Don would always make sure we had parts available if we broke down. Gene kept the bikes in his garage and had a very good work shop where you could always see him working on bikes. We have been honored to know him and Floraine. We will honor his memory in one of our parades later this year.

Our minibike unit along with many of the other units in the Shrine have various types of fundraisers such as preparing and serving meals, silent auctions, a night at the fights, garage sales (etc) to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals throughout North America. We also plan many family oriented outings such as sight seeing trips, cruises, Holiday parties, and weekend overnight trips.
